Great photographic opportunity coming Feb 3 at Heard Indian Museum in Phoenix. The indian hoop dancers are in town for a international hoop dance contest. Lots of color and action including adults and chidlren make for some great photos.
I was there a couple years ago and shot some great pictures. I arrived at the opening time of 9:30 and all the seats were full. BTW seating is in a grass bowl and you bring your own lawn chairs. I found a spot front row near the drums and spent the next five hours with the boom boom boom boom of the indian drum and the high pitched singing that accompanies that type of music. I felt so fortunate to have found such a good spot that I refused to leave for potty breaks or drinks or for any reason till it was over.
